RIASSUNTO
The results of this study constitute the first objective analysis of the therapeutic effects of horseback riding for the child with CP. The results show that children with spastic CP demonstrated significant improvement in posture during a period of therapeutic riding. Clinically subjective improvement in quality of muscle tone, balance, and weight-bearing abilities were also noted by the author and by the referring physical therapists. Further study is needed to isolate additional variables and to examine the effects of therapeutic riding on different disabilities.
